RTP9C TP90 Classic Tele Pickups

Rated 5.00 out of 5 based on 3 customer ratings
(3 customer reviews)

$99.00$189.00

This pickup is designed specifically for Tele’s loaded with a P90 or Humbucker in the neck. The construction of this pickup is identical to that of our production P90’s. We shaved the bobbin to fit in the Tele bridge slot and mounted it on the bottom flatware of a tele. The TP90 Classic is an alnico 2 based pickup. It effectively combines the classic twang you would expect of a Tele pickup, with the meat and thickness of a P90. The set is best paired with one of our Reilander P90 Classics or RH-2 Reverend Humbucker.

In choosing the options, ‘Not Applicable’ must be selected for ‘Cover Options’ when an individual bridge pickup or set with Tele neck pickup is chosen.

I can’t recommend Reilander pickups nearly enough! A friend recently installed one of Mike Reilander’s tele sized P90s in the bridge position of his 1989? Fender Telecaster–he already had a hum bucking pickup in the neck position. We were both blown away by how good the Reilander pickup sounded! It’s a seriously hot and meaty sounding combination.

Based on my friend’s experience, I ordered a calibrated TP9C, TP90 (Bridge) /Texas Style (neck) pair of Reilander pickups to upgrade my Squire Classic Vibe ’50s Telecaster. Man, I couldn’t be happier! The pickups are loud but with a real throaty voice. I recommend the P90s and the Texas Style Neck pickups–the only ones that I’ve directly experienced~But based on mine and my friend’s interactions with Mike Reilander, and seeing/hearing the incredible quality of pickups coming out of this shop, I’d venture to suggest that any pickup combination that Mike builds would be of equally high quality!

    Thanks, Mike!!

      Hi Chuck,
Thanks for your feedback! We are thrilled that you and you’re friend are enjoying your Reilander Pickups. The TP9C is my current favorite and is loaded in my personal Tele with the Texas Style neck. I love it for the same reasons you do… The throaty voice combined with the classic twang makes for a fairly unique, yet familiar Tele tone.

I’ve been looking for a good sounding Tele bridge pickup for a while. I’ve tried several from different sources, not really happy with any of them. I like the fact that this one is made similar to an actual P-90. Sound wise it has qualities of both the Tele and a P-90. It’ll twang and growl with the best of both. I’m happy, finally. Search is over.

I ordered this pickup because I couldn’t find a Tele pickup that I liked. Too shrill, too hot, not enough ommph, you’ve probably been thru it too. I was drawn to this one because it looks like how a P-90 is made, simple concept. The TP90 is everything it claims, it’ll twang, it’ll growl. The mids are there but not overbearing. I’m pleased, my search is over. Good Job!
